Vision Statement of the Province of Chennai
|
| We are the followers of Jesus Christ in the style of the Apostles. We are formed by the spirit in the forge of Mary's heart. Living in missionary community we are called to evangelize through the ministry of the word and be open to the universal mission of the church in keeping with the demands, options and preferential recipients of our mission. |

Being rooted in the Word of God, we deepen our charismatic identity as Prophetic Servants of the Word and commit ourselves to enhance our preaching ministry; and in solidarity with the people to promote the values of the kingdom, especially of social justice, in the context of our missions. |

Mission Focus of the Province of Chennai |
"To fulfill the prophetic mission of witnessing we need to see the world with prophetic eyes to identify the signs of HOPE and CHALLENGES and to ACT in defence of the poor and marginalized, especially Tanzanians, Dalits, Santals, women, children and youth." (Document of the Third Provincial Chapter)
The Province of Chennai is working among the Santhal tribals in north India , the oppressed people in Tamil Nadu and the people of Tanzania in East Africa . Therefore the mission of the Province of Chennai can be understood in accordance with these three geographical zones. |
