| I CARE(Indian Claretian Action for Rural Education) |
| The Children in Rural India are deprived of education due to poverty. When there is no money for the family to eat, then it is a difficult task for the parents to send their children to school. Rather they consider sending them to the fields as child labourers. In these extreme stages, we take initiatives to bring the children back to schools through providing sponsorships for the educational needs of the children. The following sponsorships are given in various missions of the Claretians. |

| The Claret Schools are situated in Karumathur village 23 km west of Madurai in the Madurai - Theni main road. When the Claretians began their work in this area they felt the need for rural education as an instrument for social change. In order to bring the light of education to the people of this area a Primary School was started in the year 1981. As days went the demand increased and the school was upgraded to High School with new buildings. Due to the hard work of the management and with the co-operation of Fatima Sisters and the teachers, the school is producing excellent results in the Public Examinations. Computer education is also introduced in the school. The School excels in all the competitions conducted in the zonal and district level |

State and District level UTSE Award 2005
 The Shakesphere Institute of English studies conducted State level ‘Universal Talent Search Examination 2005(UTSE 2005) in the month of November 2005. In the UTSE 2005, two kids from ST. John's School brought honour to the school. In the LKG category Stu. Manish Linganu got second rank in Tamil Nadu state and First rank in Madurai District. In IV Std category, Stu. Sarangapani got first rank in Madurai District. Besides this the school was awarded with a shield of ‘Good Performance Award UTSE 2005'. The award and the prize were given during a grand function held in Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Chennai on 29 th January 2006 at 2.30pm. Padma Shri. Dr. Nalli Kuppuswamy Chettiar (Proprietor of Nalli Silks) and Shri. A. Watarajan (Former Director o f Doordharshan Kendra) presided over the function. Stu. Manish Linganu of LKG received the State award for getting second rank in UTSE 2005 and Fr. J. Joseph Victor Doss CMF, the Principal received the Good Performance award UTSE 2005 on behalf of St. John's School. Our sincere appreciation to Stu. Manish, Stu. Sarangapani, their parents, teachers, staff and the Principal and Correspondant for their contribution to bring honour to the School.
